THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE

Searching for a
Premium PALOMA?

Little is known about the historical origin of the Paloma, the most popular tequila-based cocktail in Mexico. Some believe that it is named after La Paloma (“The Dove”), the popular folk song composed in the early 1860s. Diffords guide states it was created by the legendary Don Javier Delgado Corona, owner and bartender of La Capilla, in Tequila, Mexico.

A standard Reposado Tequila contains around 98 calories per 50ml serving. East Imperial Grapefruit Soda contains 59 calories per 150ml,.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TEQUILAS?

Blanco Tequila
It’s the freshly distilled spirit without any oak ageing.

Reposado Tequila
These are tequilas that are aged two months to one year in oak casks. This tequila is perfect for mixed drinks, as the ageing rounds and softens it.

Añejo Tequila
A tequila aged for one-to-three years in oak casks and usually a sipping tequila.
